In a heartfelt gesture of support, Northern Railways and the State Bank of India (SBI) jointly disbursed a sum of `1 crore to the family of a deceased loco pilot from the Moradabad Division. The amount was released as part of a Personal Accident Insurance (PAI) claim under SBI’s Railway Salary Package.
The loco pilot, who was an account holder under the SBI Railway Salary Package-Diamond variant, was eligible for insurance coverage provided through this special salary scheme for railway employees. After his unfortunate passing, SBI and Northern Railways coordinated closely to ensure the insurance claim process was completed smoothly and quickly.
The cheque was handed over to the bereaved family in an official ceremony.
The cheque was formally presented by the General Manager of Northern Railways, along with the General Manager of SBI Delhi Circle. Senior officers from both Northern Railways and SBI, including the Senior Divisional Personnel Officer of the Moradabad Division and the SBI Branch Manager from Railway Station Road Moradabad, were present at the event. Their timely coordination and support were praised for ensuring that the family received the financial assistance without delay.
This disbursement follows the Railway Salary Package Agreement signed between Northern Railways and SBI Delhi Circle on January 2, 2025, which aims to provide added financial security to railway employees.
