Several Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Members of Parliament (MPs) and Members of Legislative Assembly (MLAs) inaugurated Ayushman Arogya Mandirs in their respective constituencies on Tuesday, beginning the launch of Prime Minister’s ambitious Ayushman Arogya Yojana across Delhi. n a major boost to Delhi’s healthcare infrastructure, the Delhi government has inaugurated 33 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs across various parts of the capital. These centres are aimed at offering accessible, free, and high-quality healthcare services to the public at the neighbourhood level, the ministers said.
BJP MP from South Delhi, Ramvir Singh Bidhuri, also participated in the drive, inaugurating centres in the historic villages of Tughlakabad and Tigri. He stated that the new centres would make healthcare services more accessible for people living in these areas, many of whom previously had to travel long distances for basic medical needs. Local residents welcomed the move and expressed satisfaction with the newly available facilities.
Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva welcomed the timely launch of the Ayushman Arogya Mandirs by the Delhi Government, stating that with this, the BJP government has taken a significant step towards fulfilling a major promise from its election manifesto. He said that the high-quality Ayushman Arogya Mandirs would fulfill Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision & desire of providing good and free healthcare services to all. Sachdeva stated that by inaugurating 33 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs today, the BJP government of Delhi has kickstarted an extensive plan worth over Rs 2400 crore to open 1139 such Mandirs, thereby making world-class primary medical aid centers accessible to the people of Delhi.
In Chandni Chowk, BJP MP Praveen Khandelwal inaugurated an Ayushman Arogya Mandir at the government dispensary in the Shalimar Bagh Assembly segment. Education, Home, and Power Minister Ashish Sood, dedicated the newly constructed Ayushman Arogya Mandir to the residents of his Janakpuri constituency. The center is located opposite the SS Mota Singh Community Centre in A-4A Block, Janakpuri. A large number of local residents were present on the occasion.
Sood emphasised that since assuming office, the Delhi Government has made transformative efforts to elevate healthcare services to global standards. Today’s launch is a significant step in that direction. The Ayushman Arogya Mandirs offer free in-house diagnostic tests such as LFT, KFT, Lipid Profile, Sugar, BP, and others. Additionally, over 200 essential medicines will be provided free of cost.
In West Delhi, Delhi’s Health Minister Dr. Pankaj Kumar Singh opened another Arogya Mandir at several locations including Old Barat Ghar, Gali No. 6, Gupta Enclave, Vikas Nagar in his Vikas Puri Assembly constituency.
As per the ministers, each newly inaugurated Ayushman Arogya Mandir is equipped to provide primary healthcare services, comprehensive diagnostic testing, and prenatal care. These centres also feature modern infrastructure including a pathology lab, comfortable and well-ventilated waiting areas, fans, coolers, air-conditioners, clean drinking water, and sanitation facilities. Thousands of residents in the vicinity can now access a wide range of medical services completely free of cost.
At Babar Road, Delhi PWD Minister Parvesh Sahib Singh inaugurated the flagship Aarogya Mandir, emphasizing its role in transforming the city’s primary healthcare infrastructure. In Sarojini Nagar, his wife and social worker Swati Singh Verma inaugurated another Aarogya Mandir and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to expanding public healthcare access.
Speaking at the event, Singh remarked, “The Prime Minister had allocated Rs. 2,400 crore to the Kejriwal government to strengthen Delhi’s health infrastructure. But they chose to sit on the funds, afraid the credit would go to PM Modi. Today, we are putting that very money to good use, building real healthcare institutions, not political showpieces.”
Delhi Development Minister Kapil Mishra inaugurated an Arogya Mandir in the Khajuri area of Karawal Nagar. He revealed that the government is also working on plans to open a large hospital in the region. “These Ayushman Arogya Mandirs will offer free services by experienced doctors along with all necessary lab tests. In the next eight months, 1,139 such Mandirs will be set up across Delhi,” Mishra added. Delhi Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa inaugurated Ayushman Arogya Mandir in Chaukhandi, hailing the initiative as a landmark step toward ensuring quality and accessible healthcare for all. Taking a firm stand on the failures of the previous regime, Shri Manjinder Singh Sirsa added, “Unlike the container clinics of the past government, which had some of the worst facilities, our Ayushman Arogya Mandirs clearly reflect the difference in vision and delivery. A single visit reveals the foresight of our Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.”
Minister of Social Welfare, SC/ST Welfare, Elections, and Cooperation, Ravinder Indraj Singh, dedicated an Ayushman Arogya Mandir to residents of C Block, JJ Colony, Bawana. He described it as a major step toward inclusive healthcare for underprivileged communities.
